Top-seeded Andy Roddick beat Paradorn Srichaphan of Thailand by a 7-6(2), 6-4 score in the final of last year's RCA Championships in Indianapolis. It was Roddick's sixth career title on American soil, but not his last, winning in Cincinnati two weeks later, and the US Open four weeks after that. Mario Ancic and Andy Ram were the doubles winners.
