CARSON, CA (July 13, 2004) - Serena and Venus Williams, Jennifer Capriati and Lindsay Davenport head a strong field for the JPMorgan Chase Open, July 19-25, at The Home Depot Center in Carson. All have been ranked No. 1 in the world.
Seventeen of the top 25 players in the WTA rankings have committed to the JPMorgan Chase Open. Others among the top 25 on the entry list for the JPMorgan Chase Open include: Elena Dementieva, Svetlana Kuznetsova, Ai Sugiyama, Paola Suarez, Nadia Petrova, Vera Zvonareva, Patty Schnyder, Francesca Schiavone, Anna Smashnova-Pistolesi, Elena Bovina, Fabiola Zuluaga, Chanda Rubin and Amy Frazier.

Serena Williams bobblehead night, a fireworks extravaganza, and a tennis racquet giveaway are just some of the special events planned for the JPMorgan Chase Open.
The Serena Williams bobblehead giveaway is Friday, July 23 at 8 p.m., with the first 5,000 fans in attendance receiving a Serena Williams bobblehead. The Saturday, July 24, 1 p.m. session features a tennis racquet giveaway to the first 5,000 kids 14 and under in attendance, and following the Saturday, July 24, 7 p.m. session is a spectacular fireworks show.
Other special offerings at the JPMorgan Chase Open include: "Two for Tuesdays," in which fans who buy one ticket, get one free ticket, a hot dog and soda; "Family Pak," available Friday, July 23 and Saturday, July 24, where for $49 fans receive four tickets, four hot dogs, four sodas, four bags of chips and parking; and "Ladies Night," Friday, July 23 at 8 p.m., where for $39 ladies receive one ticket, one glass of wine and one Wolfgang Puck Signature Dish.
New at this year’s tournament is Courtside Cuisine by Wolfgang Puck Thursday, July 22 through Sunday, July 25. It will feature food from throughout the world, an appearance by Wolfgang Puck Thursday night, July 22, and wine tasting every night.

The JPMorgan Chase Open is a part of the inaugural US Open Series, a historic breakthrough for the sport that links 10 summer hard-court tournaments to the US Open. For the first time, players competing in the US Open Series tournaments will be vying for bonus prize money at the US Open. Players competing in the "summer season" of tennis at the participating WTA tournaments will receive US Open Series points which will ultimately earn the winner of the series the opportunity to double her US Open prize money.
