600 Additional Box Seats Added to Main Stadium at La Costa
SAN DIEGO, CA, April 21, 2005 – Tickets are now on sale for the 2005 Acura Classic, to be held July 30th - August 7th. Tennis lovers can start to secure some of the best available seats at this world-class event, held at the La Costa Resort and Spa in San Diego. To accommodate more fans who want the best possible viewing, the tournament has added 600 box seats to the center court stadium. In addition, attendees can see top player action on the second court, which now has extra seating capacity. And because of the increased draw size, the match schedule will also include play on a third and fourth side court.
Along with the 2004 defending champion Lindsay Davenport, many of the world’s top players are scheduled to compete in this year’s Acura Classic, including: Maria Sharapova, Serena Williams, Kim Clijsters, Justine Henin-Hardenne, Amelie Mauresmo, Conchita Martinez, Mary Pierce, Anastasia Myskina, and Elena Dementieva. The Acura Classic, a Tier I tournament with a total purse of $1.3 million, is one of the ten largest professional women’s tennis tournaments in the world, outside of the grand slam events.

Free parking for attendees will be available for opening weekend on Saturday, July 30th and Sunday, July 31st.
