STANFORD, California (Ticker) - Shenay Perry likely will have a difficult time setting up a match with American Fed Cup teammate Jill Craybas at the Bank of the West Classic.

A qualifier, Perry will face fifth seed Daniela Hantuchova of Slovakia in a first-round match at the $600,000 Tier II hardcourt tournament Tuesday night.

The winner will face Craybas in the second round. Perry, who was Craybas' teammate on the U.S. Fed Cup squad that beat Germany in the quarterfinals in April, is ranked 49th in the world, while Hantuchova is 17th.

In the other night match, Sania Mirza of India takes on Russian qualifier Vasilisa Bardina. The winner will meet No. 4 Anna-Lena Groenefeld of Germany.

Sixth seed Ai Sugiyama of Japan defeated Czech Kveta Peschke, 6-3, 6-4, in the first match of the day. She will face Tatiana Golovin of France in the second round.

Also in the afternoon, Australian Samantha Stosur faces Ukrainian qualifier Olga Savchuk and American wild card Lilia Osterloh opposes Serbian Jelena Jankovic.

The winner of the Osterloh-Jankovic match will face top seed Kim Clijsters, a three-time champion here, in the second round.
