TORONTO (AP) -- Stephanie Dubois of Canada upset Ai Sugiyama of Japan 6-7 (5), 6-4, 7-5 Tuesday in the first round of the Rogers Cup.
Dubois, ranked 115th, fired a tennis ball in delight into the stands at Rexall Centre after completing her victory against her 27th-ranked opponent.
"This means a lot to me because that's my favorite tournament,'' Dubois said. "Since I'm little, I'm watching it and I wanted to play in it, so I'm really happy.''
