Mardy Fish, a finalist at the 2007 Pilot Pen, who is coming off a recent upset of world No. 1 Roger Federer, is the first ATP player to commit to Pilot Pen Tennis presented by Schick, an Olympus US Open Series event on the ATP and Sony Ericsson WTA Tours to be held August 15-23, 2008 at the Connecticut Tennis Center at Yale.
Fish is currently ranked No. 42 in the world and recently had one of the biggest wins of his career when he upset Federer at the Pacific Life Open in Indian Wells, California, en route to the finals where he fell in three sets to world No. 3 Novak Djokovic. It was the first time an American had defeated Federer in more than four years. In addition, earlier this year he reached the quarterfinals at Delray Beach and San Jose.
