LOS ANGELES (AP) - Alex Bogomolov Jr. upset No. 7 seed Grigor Dimitrov of Bulgaria 6-4, 6-3 and fourth seed Thomaz Bellucci of Brazil beat Columbia's Alejandro Falla on Thursday to set up a quarterfinals meeting at the Farmers Classic.
Eighth-seeded Igor Kunitsyn of Russia won both tiebreaks to defeat Ryan Sweeting 7-6 (4), 7-6 (6). He will next face top seed Mardy Fish.
Bogomolov overcame some service difficulties to get out of the second round for the first time in four appearances at this event.
In a battle of new doubles partners, Bellucci made quick work of his fellow left-hander, winning in a brisk 52 minutes. The duo plays its second match of doubles play later in the day.
Fish's tournament gets underway when he faces Gilles Muller of Luxembourg in Thursday's nightcap.
