WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (AP) -- Germany's Tobias Kamke defeated Colombia's Alejandro Falla 6-1, 6-0 Sunday in the Winston-Salem Open.
American Ryan Sweeting beat Belgium's Olivier Rochus 6-3, 7-5 in another first-round match.
The 16 seeded players, including No. 1 seed Andy Roddick, drew opening-round byes.
The tournament is the final men's tuneup before the U.S. Open.
