Kids get excited about playing tennis with their new racquets.
New York, NY -- Emirates Airline announced today that it selected New York Junior Tennis & Learning (NYJTL) as a beneficiary of its Racquet Return program in 2012.  Joel Goldowsky, Sales Manager for Emirates was on-hand at IS 61 to present 100 racquets to NYJTL at IS 61 in Queens.  The presentation of the racquets was a surprise for the youngsters, who were participating in the NYJTL program in the school gym.

Emirates, ‘Official Airline of the US Open’ and title sponsor of the ‘Emirates Airline US Open Series,’ collected pre-loved racquets from tennis fans at several US Open Series events across North America, including Los Angeles, New Haven and New York.  In addition to refurbishing the donated racquets, Emirates provided a monetary donation to USTA Serves that goes toward additional tennis programming.

"The Emirates Airline Racquet Return Program is just one part of our longstanding commitment to tennis," said Joel Goldowsky, Sales Manager for Emirates.  "Through Emirates’ partnerships with such organizations such as the NYJTL, we are hoping to share our passion for tennis with children in communities such as Queens.  We are also helping the budding tennis stars of the future to develop skills by providing equipment which has been generously donated by tennis fans from across the U.S."

"We are so thankful to Emirates Airline and USTA Serves for making this happen during the holiday season," said Ron Nano, NYJTL Senior Director of Operations. "This is the perfect gift for our kids who have come to love the game."
