Sam Querrey is a two-time semifinalist at the Winston-Salem Open

Coming on the heels of the announcement that John Isner and Tommy Robredo would play in the Winston-Salem Open, two additional top players – Spaniard Marcel Granollers and American Sam Querrey – also  have committed to compete. The 2014 Winston-Salem Open will be held from Aug. 16-23 at the Wake Forest Tennis Complex adjacent to BB&T Field.

A winner of seven career ATP World Tour singles titles, Querrey will return for a third consecutive Winston-Salem Open after reaching the semifinals each of the past two years. The California native fell to eventual champion Jurgen Melzer in the semis last year after bowing out to Tomas Berdych in the semifinals in 2012.

Querrey, who has been ranked as high as No. 19 in the world in the past year, reached the semifinals in Houston this spring and beat French Open semifinalist Ernests Gulbis in straight sets at the Australian Open in January.

A quarterfinalist at the 2012 Winston-Salem Open, Granollers is fresh off a fourth-round showing at the French Open that propelled him to No. 30 in the Emirates Airline ATP World Tour rankings. An accomplished doubles player as well, Granollers reached his first Grand Slam doubles final last week in Paris.

Tickets to the 2014 Winston-Salem Open at Wake Forest University went on sale to the public earlier today (June 9). Everyone who purchases tickets to the Winston-Salem Open on June 9 will receive a free “collectible credential,” which includes early admission to the site during the tournament, exclusive autograph sessions, behind-the-scenes special tours and eligibility for seat upgrades and more.
