Twenty-three-time Grand Slam Champion Serena Williams will open the summer hard-court season at the 2018 Mubadala Silicon Valley Classic, which begins on July 30, on the campus of the tournament’s new home at San José State University.
Williams will headline an already star-studded lineup that includes five-time Grand Slam champion Maria Sharapova, defending champion and US Open finalist Madison Keys and 2017 singles finalist CoCo Vandeweghe as tournament entrees. The tournament, which runs from July 30-Aug. 5, will receive its full player field list on June 19.
The future Hall of Fame inductee will be competing in the Bay Area for the first time since winning the tournament in 2014, her third singles title at the event.

Formerly known as the Bank of the West Classic in Stanford, the Mubadala Silicon Valley Classic is a weeklong WTA Premier event bringing the worlds of tennis and technology together in a festival of sports and entertainment.
